So this is one of my very favourite make up looks; so much so that I spend most of the year counting don the days till autumn so that I can start wearing this makeup look again. Firstly I Love that I am allowed to be a little paler at this time of year as I am so pale naturally that I usually spend the whole of summer slapping fake tan on and covering myself in bronzer. So I start with a full coverage foundation, I tend to avoid thick foundations like this in the summer as the heat makes me feel like my face is melting.
I then use a slightly lighter concealer to highlight under my eyes and down the centre of my face (nose, cupids bow, chin and the centre of my forehead). Whilst I let this set a little I will do my brows. I love a strong brow all year round but I feel like Autumn is the perfect time to let them grow out a little and wear them a little bolder. This is especially important with a very dark lip, as I feel it balances out the look. Another thing that I find myself putting on a little (lot) stronger at this time of year is my contour.
I love wearing heavy contour during the colder months and will contour my cheekbones and around the sides of my forehead a lot more than I would in the summer. I usually try to keep my eyes quite neutral when I'm wearing a bold lip so a light smoky eye or just a nice light coppery colour all over works well. A little eyeliner and big lashes finish the eyes off. I also always wear a white eyeliner along my waterline to make my eyes appear bigger. To make this look work for a night time event I will take my smokey eyes round
under my eye slightly like in this bottom picture. Now for the most important part of the look. The lips. I love wearing dark berry lips and there are always so many options at this time of year. Some of my favourites are from Topshop and I think that they have a really good range. A good tip for wearing Dark lips is to always wear a lip liner and also to get a little concealer on a flat brush and go round the edges once you think you are done. This not only neatens them up but it will make the lips stand out more and keep the lipstick from leaking outwards. Finally I would team this look with messy, wavy hair and possibly a bobble hat for the perfect Autumn look.
