As Christmas comes closer I thought that lots of you would find it useful if I did a little gift guide to help you to know what to get your girlfriend. This may not be for your girlfriend you might want to get some of these for your mum or your sister, but I think these would be great gifts to give someone special. Also some of these gifts might not suit everyone but this is just what I think would be great and I would love to get all of these things for Christmas.
So Many good options. Also the price of these is incredible as I know each of these brushes are between £22-£25 if you buy them separately. You can find these in boots and most other drugstores in the UK.
easy to find something to fit your budget whilst still giving a really nice Christmas gift. Alternatively they sell little bits of fabric that you can pick a few different items and get them wrapped up there of maybe even buy a few and wrap them up yourself in a Christmasy tea-towel or something similar. However the boxes do make a great gift and have so many different combinations of things inside. The best part if they come pre-wrapped.
As I have written a blog post recently about Anxiety and how it affects me, I thought that it would be a good idea to share with you some tips on how to ease anxiety. As with the first post where I described how everyone's Anxiety is different this is exactly the same so some of these things may be useful and some may not, but I hope that this is helpful for some of you. So here is a list of some of the things that I do to help sooth my Anxiety;
Meditation is something that suprised me when it actually woked for me. It takes a lot of practice to meditate properly and for people with Anxiety it is a lot harder to control your own thoughts. So my advice would be to be patient with yourself and not to get stressed if you start thinking off track, however once this is mastered it can be a really effective tool for when you are overthinking or worrying about things that you kow you dont need to be. I find it really useful to use a guided meditation track, I know that their aremany different apps that you can download that have different tracks but if not youtube has some great guided meditations to elp you sleep or just take a break from your day. The one I use is a channel called "Sleep Ezy Tonight".
2. Mindfulness colouring
Adult colouring has gained a lot of popularity recently and for good reason. It is a really good way of relaxing and clearing your mind as you are focusing on the colouring and not thinking about other things. You can buy these book in almost all supper markets now and online. I have two swear word colouring books that were a gift to me, that I absolutely love them. My other book is "the minfullness colouling book" from amazon. I really find these books a useful way to distract myself.
3. Keep yourself busy
Keeping busy is probably the way that I calm my anxiety the most. I will ring a friend up and go to the pub or for a walk with them, or I will ring someone up for a big long chat. This may sound like I'm just avoiding my problems and that is exactly what I am doing. And this is fine, mostly because the things that I worry about aren't actual real problems.
4. Breathing exercises
Learning how to control your breathing is good for when you feel like you might be about to have a panic attack, breathing exercises are a really good way of calming yourself down and stopping yourself from becoming short of breath and feeling panicked. A standard one that everyone has probably heard before is to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth but there is also lots more advice and things for you to learn on youtube and of course google.
5. Surrounding yourself with positive people
This is an important thing to think about for long term solutions to your anxiety. Surround yourself with people who you can talk to about your feelings and who you feel support you. I'm sure everyone has at some point been around someone in a bad mood and noticed how they suck the life out of you and bring you down with them. In the same sort of way that sometimes being around really happy people cheers you up. Surround yourself with these happy supportive people and you will slowly but surely find yourself becoming a happier and more positive person.
misunderstanding of what people with anxiety are like that often makes people not believe that I have anxiety. I have had many awful ex boyfriends in the past tell me that they don't think I have anxiety or that I am using it as an excuse. But I guess I can see where I didn't fit into their ideas about what anxiety was. The only way to describe anxiety (at least the anxiety that I experience) is with the word overthinking. For as long as I remember I have always been an over-thinker; always looking at situations and working out all of the things that could go wrong. This worry (for me) mostly surrounds itself with other people. Not in the most obvious way that you think, a lot of the time I don't care what people think of me. It's more in an untrusting way towards them, I can't help but imagine all the ways that they could hurt me.
My anxiety also shows itself as performance anxiety, It started with exams and then grew on to other things. There have been bad times in my life where I have let this get on top of me, when I couldn't go to the supermarket because I couldn't pack my bags quick enough and I could feel the people behind me watching. Although I don't worry so much about those things now, I still get the same feeling from time to time and often now use the self serve checkouts in order to avoid it.
Although I haven't had a bad panic attack in some time now anxiety is still with me. In a way in which I find it hard to control my own thought and block out thought that I don't like. It's a very strange feeling to worry about something that you yourself believe will probably never happen. To picture thing unfolding, or imagine situations in which you will get hurt or be humiliated, not to be able to turn that image off. But I am never antisocial because of my anxiety, if anything my anxiety makes me go out more because I am distracted from my own thoughts.
Anxiety is defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome. It is important to remember that these things that are uncertain are different for different people. Mine are situations in which I feel vulnerable, relationships could end badly, friendships could go wrong, exams can be failed. But never social situations.
So you should never tell a person with Anxiety that they don't have it simply because they are sociable, never tell them they are exaggerating the ways that they feel and try to remember that everyone is different and has worries about different things.
As it is nearing the end of September now I thought I would share with you my September Favourites.
Next up is a beauty favourite that I have been loving this month and that is the Rimmel London Foundations. (Match Perfection, Wake Me Up and Lasting Finish) these three are my go foundations for all year round, they each have different levels of coverage and do different things for your skin. I find it useful to keep all three in my makeup bag so if I am having a day where I don't feel like wearing too much makeup I can go for Wake Me Up or if I need a little bit more that day I can grab Lasting Finish. However at the moment, for the day time I am wearing The Match Perfection and for a night out I am mixing Lasting Finish and Wake Me Up together as I love the fuller coverage of the Lasting Finish and I also love the slight sparkly of the Wake Me Up.
My next Favourite are not really a product that I have been loving this month however they are something that I received in September that made me very happy and I couldn't leave them out. These beautiful flowers have been sat on my windowsill for at least part of this month and I love them. They include all of my favourite flowers of which sunflowers are my absolute favourite. I was very lucky to receive these from someone special and so I had to put them in here.
Another favourite of mine this month has been Primark nails. I had never tried Primarks nails before and had actually never tried stick on nails at all before I saw the huge range Primark had in. I got a selection of the pointed and coffin shaped nails in lots of different colours inducing some special Halloween ones with what looks like blood on them. These nails are fantastic for nights out or occasions where you only need nails for one or two days. I got a different glue to go with my nails from boots (although I have heard that the Primark glue is actually quite good) and they stayed on for about four or five days with only a few needing re-gluing. However as the ones I had were quite long they did begin to bend after a couple of days. Perfect for a night out but probably wont last you for a whole holiday although for one pound who can complain.
Now I know I am definitely behind on this one but my next favourite for this month is my new Iphone 6. After almost two years of putting up with the worst phone ever (a Nokia Lumia) I finally joined the twenty-first century and got myself an Iphone. My favourite apps of this month are Snapchat (which I missed oh so much) and just generally having my other social media apps work properly. How did I ever live without this thing!
other. I find that this gets all of my lashes, is super lengthening and doesn't transfer onto my face (which I found the Lash Sensational one did).
snuggled in front of the fire. Here are a few things that I love and think are essential for Autumn.
Jumpers are one of my favourite things to wear; whether that is a thin grey jumper tucked into a skirt or a big thick woolly knit dress draped over tights. They are essential for this time of year and with so many different ways of wearing them they are so easy to style. Here are some of my favourite looks.
My final Autumn essential is something that i look forward to all year.
